Best Markets on the Gold Coast: Farmers Markets and Weekend Events

The Gold Coast's market scene has grown significantly as the city's permanent population has expanded beyond its tourist core. The Carrara Markets on the Pacific Motorway near Nerang is the Gold Coast's largest and oldest market, operating Saturday and Sunday with a wide range of new and secondhand goods, fresh produce and food stalls. The Burleigh Heads Community Market on James Street at the park operates on the first and third Sunday of the month and has a strong artisan and local produce character. Palm Beach Farmers and Artisan Market on Nineteenth Avenue runs on Sundays and has a quality fresh food focus. The Coolangatta and Tweed Heads market scene on the NSW border has its own regular events. Checking local council event listings for current dates is worthwhile, as scheduling and locations vary.
