Dog-Friendly Gold Coast: Beaches, Parks and Off-Leash Areas

The Gold Coast has several designated dog-friendly beach areas that are among the best in Queensland. Burleigh Heads Beach north of the national park headland has a designated off-leash area at the northern end, popular with local residents. Tallebudgera Creek's lower section near Burleigh has off-leash walking access along the creek bank. Elanora and Pacific Pines have off-leash dog parks inland. The Currumbin Alley estuary and Currumbin Creek have walking paths that are popular with dog owners at lower-tide times. The Gold Coast City Council website lists all current off-leash areas, beach access rules and seasonal variations. Many cafes along James Street Burleigh, Tedder Avenue Main Beach and Nobby Beach's Surf Parade have outdoor seating that welcomes leashed dogs. As with all Gold Coast beaches, checking current rules before visiting is recommended as some zones are seasonal.
