Best Asian Restaurants on the Gold Coast: Thai, Japanese and More
The Gold Coast's Asian dining scene has grown significantly alongside the city's population and its consistent draw of international tourists, particularly from Japan, South Korea and China. Surfers Paradise has the highest concentration of Asian dining reflecting the international tourist trade, with Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Thai restaurants in the Cavill Avenue area and adjacent streets. Broadbeach has quality Japanese and Korean options near the Star precinct. Burleigh Heads' James Street and the surrounding streets have upmarket Japanese and Vietnamese options suited to the quality-conscious local demographic. Southport has a concentration of Chinese restaurants serving both the local community and the Chinese international student population at Griffith University Gold Coast. Robina and Pacific Fair's surrounds have Asian dining in a suburban format popular with families. Japanese ramen and sushi are particularly well represented on the Gold Coast given the Japanese tourist market. Checking current hours is worthwhile as some tourist-oriented operations reduce trading outside school holiday periods.
